At the Detroit Auto Show Lexus unveiled the LF-A Roadster Concept, even if everyone was waiting for the long-anticipated LF-A supercar. If put into production the LF-A Roadster will compete with the M6 convertible. The production Lexus LF-A is set to arrive in 2010 priced at over $200,000.

Honda will unveil in September at the Paris Motor Show a concept version of its forthcoming small global hybrid. Production version will follow in spring 2009. The new model will be smaller than both the Civic Hybrid and the Toyota Prius

It’s going to be busy period for BMW this fall as Carscoop learned from inside sources that the Bavarian automaker will take the wraps off three very important vehicles this year. First up will be the all-new 7-Series luxury sedan and the X1 Concept, both of which will make their premier at the Paris Auto Show in October, followed by a new Z4 Roadster Concept.

Honda will introduce a street-legal, track-ready version of the Civic Type-R sedan at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon in January.

Volkswagen officially stated that the Golf TDI Hybrid is likely to inspire a production vehicle in the near future. Apparently, the production model will be based on the next generation Golf which is expected to be introduced at the end of the year.

Rolls Royce will unveil at the Geneva Motor Show the Coupe version of the luxury sedan Phantom. The Phantom Coupe version comes two years after the unveiling of the 101EX Concept unveiled in 2006. Production of the new Coupe will begin at Goodwood in the summer.
