Tata's Crossover concept, the Xover, will compete with the likes of Innova and the upcoming Mahindra Ingenio. This vehicle was displayed at the Geneva auto show back in 2005, and proved to be a crowd puller.

Alfa Romeo is working a crossover version of its forthcoming 149 C-Segment model. It will be unveiled sometime in 2010 and will come to compete with models like Infiniti EX35. The Alfa Romeo 149 SUV is will be powered by a 2.0 turbo engine that will deliver 300 hp. It will be offered with AWD system, 20" wheels and with the latest LED technology.

The HED-5, named “i-mode” is a six-seater people carrier that hints -according to Hyundai, at a future MPV production model. The prototype crossover also showcases a series of advanced technologies like the rotating seat concept and the lightweight materials that replace the metal and glass surfaces.

Next month in Chicago, GM will finally pull the wraps off the 2009 HUMMER H3T pickup that's received an unceremonious early debut today thanks to Truck Trend. Built on a modified version of the H3's basic architecture, the H3T's 134-inch wheelbase is a whopping 22 inches longer than the 111.9-inch wheelbase found on its SUV sibling. The H3T is a real truck with a separate bed, and is sized in-between the Canyon/Colorado and Silverado/Sierra.

It was recently reported that Volvo is considering a five-door hatchback based on the Volvo C30. A new report by Just-Auto suggests that Volvo is expanding its XC SUV range with a compact SUV based on the C30 hatchback by 2010.

There had been rumors that Porsche may offer another SUV, but a smaller one than that of the Cayenne. Those rumors have since been squashed by Porsche.
